These free mechanic templates are written for repair work done at the customer’s place: each one has a service address, a vehicle block with VIN and mileage, and labor kept apart from parts. Fill a template in on screen and print it, save it as a PDF from your browser’s print dialog, or print it blank for the clipboard.
They follow one job from start to finish. The estimate gets a yes or no on each repair before you start. The work order records what the customer authorized, what was wrong and what you did. The invoice turns that into a bill the customer can pay before you leave.
None of them carries a rate, a fee or a tax percentage. Those come from your own costs and your own state, and a number printed on a free template would be a guess with somebody else’s name on it.

Which template you need, in the order of the job
Before the work: the estimate. Write what the customer reported and what you found, list each repair with its labor and parts, put the diagnostic fee on its own line, and get a signature on the lines they approve.
During the work: the work order. It carries the authorization, with the most the customer agreed to spend, then complaint, cause and correction, the odometer in and out, and your notes for next time.
After the work: the invoice. The approved lines become the bill, with the call-out fee, supplies and tax on their own lines and the payment terms written before you arrive.
Paper is fine. Retyping is the cost.
A printed template works, and plenty of mechanics run on one. The cost shows up later, when the same customer name, vehicle and repair lines get written three times across three documents, and the third copy is the one with the typo in the total.
