Switching from Jobber
Jobber alternatives for auto repair
Jobber is good software aimed at a different trade. If you fix cars, this page is about what changes when you leave, including the two things you will miss immediately.
Looking for the row by row table instead? Fixty vs Jobber
What actually moves, and what does not
The honest headline first: Fixty has no self serve import. No upload page, no mapping wizard you drive yourself, nothing you can do at midnight on your own. Your client list still gets in, but it gets in because you send it to support and somebody loads it with you, so it is a thing to arrange while you are still deciding rather than on the morning you want to start.
A move off Jobber has a second wrinkle that a shop to shop move does not. Jobber records a client and a property. You need a client and a vehicle, and a vehicle is not a field you can rename a property into. Help with the file changes nothing here, because in most Jobber accounts the car is not in the file at all: it is in a job title, a note or your memory, and it comes back only when somebody who knows the car puts it back.
That sounds like bad news and it is actually the reason to move now rather than later. Every month you stay, more vehicle history accumulates in a shape nothing can read back. The clean version of this move is to let the client list be handled and leave the history alone: keep Jobber readable, start writing new work where the vehicle is a real record, and let the old account age out.
Pull your client list before you cancel
Ask Jobber in writing for your clients, quotes, invoices and job history while the account is live. What a vendor returns on the way out is not something we have sourced from their own site, so get the answer from them rather than from us.
The cars stay your half of the job
Year, make, model, plate and mileage are a vehicle record in Fixty and were probably free text in Jobber. Nothing automated turns one into the other and nobody can read a car out of a note for you, so whoever loads the client list, this part comes back from you.
Your recurring visits do not carry
Anything you set as repeating work needs rebuilding. Write down the schedule before you cancel: it is the piece people forget and only notice when a customer does not get their reminder.
Decide about the texting number early
If customers reply to a number they know, plan that move on its own. In Fixty a dedicated text number is on the Growth plan rather than Starter, so it changes which plan you should be picking.
Do not pick a cutover date
Run both for a few weeks. New work in the new system, history in the old one, and cancel when a full week passes without opening Jobber.
What you give up by leaving Jobber
Two of these will sting on day one and two will not matter to you at all, and only you know which is which. These are Jobber capabilities quoted from their own pages, beside what Fixty actually does on the same row.
Route optimization
Fixty: No. Fixty does not do this. It was advertised once by mistake and the claim was retracted.

When Jobber is the better choice, in full
- You run a crew rather than working alone. Jobber sells seats and assigns work across a team, and Fixty gives one mechanic one workspace.
- You want routes planned for you. Jobber generates routes for a whole crew for a day or a week, and Fixty does not do route optimization at all.
- Your books live in QuickBooks Online. Jobber syncs clients, invoices, payments and payouts into it, and Fixty has no accounting integration today.
- Your work is home service rather than auto repair. Jobber describes itself for home service pros, and its quotes, job forms and inspections are written around a site visit rather than a vehicle.
Every Jobber claim on this page was read from their own site, is quoted with the page it came from, and was last re-read on August 29, 2026. Where a cell says we could not confirm something, that is what it means: we looked and did not find it, which is not the same as it not existing.
Jobber is home service software. Auto repair is a guest there
This is not a criticism, it is their own positioning, and it explains most of the friction you have been living with. Read who they say the product is for:
Home service pros, across the trades Jobber lists as field service industries
“Jobber helps home service pros across every industry save time, stay ahead of the competition, and grow their business.”
getjobber.com/industries, read August 29, 2026
The consequence shows up in the small places. A property has an address and stays put. A car has an owner, a plate, a mileage reading and a service history, and it moves between owners. When the software has no word for the second thing, you supply it: the make and model end up in the job title, the plate ends up in a note, and the history of what you replaced last year is a search through old invoices rather than a record attached to the car.
The same gap runs through inspections. Their own inspection copy is written for a site visit:
Partial
“Use Jobber's customizable job forms and checklists to complete top-notch site inspections, assessments, and field service work every time.”
getjobber.com/features/work-order-management-software, read August 29, 2026
Checklists and job forms are genuinely useful, and they are not a photo inspection you text to a customer to sell the brake job you found. That is a difference in what the tool was drawn around, and no amount of custom fields closes it.
What planning your day looks like after Jobber
This is the loss nobody warns you about, so here it is in their own words:
Yes
“Let Jobber automatically generate the most efficient routes for your entire crew, for one day or the whole week, all at once. [dash normalized]”
getjobber.com/features/scheduling, read August 29, 2026
Fixty does not do this. Not a smaller version of it, not a roadmap item we are hinting at. It was advertised once by mistake, the claim was retracted, and the row in our own comparison table says no. If a solver ordering your stops is what makes your week work, that is a real reason to stay on Jobber and we would rather you knew now.
What replaces it for a solo mechanic is cruder and, for a lot of one van operations, enough: book by area rather than by time of day. Give each part of your patch a day, offer callers the next day that matches where they are, and stop treating the calendar as first come first served. You are not optimising a crew across a city, you are keeping one van from crossing town twice. That is a booking habit, not a feature.
Whole quote approval versus line by line
One thing genuinely improves when auto repair software replaces home service software, and it is the part of the job where money is actually won or lost. Here is how a Jobber quote gets approved, from their own documentation:
Partial
“This option sends the quote to your client via text message. They will be able to view the quote online to request changes or approve and will also receive a PDF attachment for their records.”
help.getjobber.com/en/articles/quote-basics, read August 29, 2026
Approve the whole thing or ask for changes. That is a fine shape for a fence or a lawn. It is the wrong shape for a car, because a repair estimate is rarely one decision. It is brakes now, the leaking hose now, and the suspension work when the tax refund lands. A customer looking at one large total says let me think about it, and you lose the two jobs they would have said yes to.
In Fixty the customer opens the estimate on their phone, ticks the lines they want, and signs. You get the yes to the parts they agreed to and a written record of what they declined, which is also the list you follow up on next time. If you have been sending one total and hoping, this is the thing that changes on your first job.
Who should not switch to Fixty
Jobber is the better answer for a lot of people reading this, and the four below should close the tab. Fixty is one mechanic, one workspace, no route planner, and no accounting integration.
Most of your revenue is still home service and cars are the side line
Fixty is built around a vehicle. If half your week has no vehicle in it, half the product does nothing for you.
You run a crew and Jobber scheduling is what makes the crew work
Fixty gives one mechanic one workspace. There are no seats to assign and no way to dispatch anybody.
Route optimisation is the feature you would fight for
Jobber generates routes for a whole crew for a day or a week. Fixty does not plan a driving day at all.
Your books sync to QuickBooks Online through Jobber and that sync is load bearing
Fixty has no accounting integration today. Everything that reaches your books gets there by hand.
Alternatives to Jobber that are not Fixty
If the problem is that your software does not know what a car is, then the fix is auto repair software, and Fixty is one of four we hold sourced data on. Here are the other three and who each one suits. The move we would argue against is sideways into another home service tool: Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan are built for the same trades Jobber is, so you would arrive with the same gap and a new bill.
Tekmetric
Fits you if: You have a building, a lift and someone answering the phone, and you want repair orders rather than work orders.
The catch: It is written for a shop with a front counter and a technician board, and they publish no free trial, so you commit from a demo.
In their own words
Auto repair shop management software, built by a former shop owner and sold as one platform for running the shop.
“Tekmetric is an auto repair shop software that helps shop owners provide a better customer experience and run their shop more efficiently. Built by a former shop owner, Tekmetric is your trusted business partner, not another Silicon Valley software.”

Cheapest published monthly price
$179 per month
“Tekmetric starts at $179 per month when billed annually.”

AutoLeap
Fits you if: You want auto repair vocabulary and you also want stock, tire storage and technicians as you grow.
The catch: No free trial of the shop software either. Their answer is a personalised demo and a system built around your data before you begin.
In their own words
Yes
“Built for mobile mechanics who work from a van, not a shop.”
autoleap.com/mobile-mechanic-software, read August 29, 2026
Cheapest published monthly price
$179 per month
“Power your shop with #1 Auto Repair Software starting at $179/mo. Flexible monthly and annual plans designed to streamline operations for shops of any size.”
autoleap.com/pricing, read August 29, 2026
Shopmonkey
Fits you if: You want a full shop system that also markets to mobile work, and integrations matter more than a low monthly price.
The catch: Their published entry price is the highest of the three, and customer self booking is packaged separately from the plan.
In their own words
Yes
“Shopmonkey brings scheduling, communication, payments, reports, and more into a single, easy-to-use platform built for mobile repair work.”
shopmonkey.io/mobile-mechanic-software, read August 29, 2026
Cheapest published monthly price
$215 per month
“Simple pricing for auto repair and shop management software. Shopmonkey offers plans starting from just $215/month with annual pricing discounts.”
shopmonkey.io/pricing, read August 29, 2026
We sell one of the options on this page, so read the quotes rather than our summary of them. Each price above is the cheapest monthly figure that vendor publishes, which is usually the annually billed rate. Paying month to month generally costs more.
Questions people ask before they switch
Why do auto repair businesses leave Jobber?
Usually because the software has no vehicle. Jobber positions itself for home service pros, so the car ends up in a job title or a note rather than in a record with a plate, mileage and its own service history. The second reason is quote shape: Jobber quotes get approved or sent back as a whole, and a repair estimate is normally several separate decisions.
What do I lose by moving from Jobber to Fixty?
Route optimisation, which Jobber does for a whole crew and Fixty does not do at all. Multiple users, because Fixty is one mechanic and one workspace. The QuickBooks Online sync, because Fixty has no accounting integration today. And your recurring visits, which have to be rebuilt by hand.
Can I import my Jobber clients into Fixty?
Not by yourself, because there is no upload screen. Send support the file Jobber gives you and a person loads it with you. The catch is the vehicles: home service software had nowhere to keep a car, so those details are usually not in the file for anybody to load, and they get filled in as your clients come back.
Is there an auto repair alternative to Jobber that keeps route planning?
Of the products we hold sourced data on, Jobber and ServiceTitan both publish route optimisation and both are built for home service trades rather than auto repair. Among the auto repair tools, AutoLeap publishes route aware scheduling that the mechanic sequences rather than a solver. If planned routes are the deciding feature, staying put is a defensible answer.
If you are switching, start on one job
Do not migrate anything. Take your next job, write the estimate at the curb, text it, let the customer approve the lines they want, and take the card before you pack up. If that one job is better than the way you do it today, enter the next customer too.
