Competitor pricing
Tekmetric pricing
Tekmetric is one of the few shop platforms that puts its rates on a public page. Here is what those figures are, which billing basis they are on, and which parts of the product their own pages describe as separate.
The short answer
Tekmetric publishes three monthly figures. Their own statement is that Tekmetric starts at $179 per month when billed annually, with more advanced plans available at $309 per month and $409 per month. The entry plan is called Start.
The billing basis matters, and their sentence attaches it to the first figure only: $179 is explicitly the annual rate. Paying month to month costs more, and this page does not print that number, because Tekmetric never writes it into a sentence anywhere on their site. Set the billing toggle on their pricing page to monthly and the Start card shows it.
Tekmetric is the closest thing in this comparison set to a like for like product: it is auto repair software rather than a home services tool adapted to cars. That makes its price the most directly relevant number a mechanic in this category can look at, and it is worth reading precisely.
Everything below is quoted from tekmetric.com with the page and the date it was read. Where a claim would have needed a number their pages did not put in a sentence, it is left out rather than estimated.

The figure this page does not state: the month to month rate for the Start plan
It is higher than the annual figure above, and it is missing for an evidence reason rather than a policy one. Tekmetric never writes that amount into a sentence: it renders as the price element on the Start card, and every page of theirs that discusses price in prose quotes the annual figure instead. Nine of their pages were opened looking for it. Stitching a price element to the words beside it would be a sentence we wrote rather than one they published, so this page sends you to the card.
Three published figures, and what basis they are on
The published ladder is $179, $309 and $409 per month, in one sentence on their own site. The entry plan carrying the first figure is named Start, which their pricing page confirms indirectly by describing the tier above it as everything in Start plus more.
Read the basis carefully, because their sentence is precise in a way that is easy to skim past. The words "when billed annually" attach to $179. The two higher figures are stated without repeating the basis, so this page does not claim they are annual rates and does not claim they are not. If you are pricing a higher tier, that is a question for their card rather than for any page about them.
The month to month rate for Start is higher than $179 and is not printed here, and the reason is worth stating because it is not the obvious one. It is not that the number is awkward for us. It is that Tekmetric never puts it in a sentence: it is the price element on the Start card and nothing else. Their AI facts page, their FAQ, their comparison pages and their own post about affordable shop software all quote the annual figure, and none of them quote this one. This site prints a number only when a sentence on the source carries it, so the honest move is to send you to the card. Set the billing toggle to monthly and read it there.
Unlimited users, and the products that sit beside the plan
The strongest thing about Tekmetric pricing is what does not scale. In their words: they do not charge by user or by repair order, every shop gets full access, unlimited users, unlimited repair orders, unlimited support, no hidden fees. For a shop that is growing headcount, that is a materially different model from per seat pricing, and it is the reason a Tekmetric quote does not balloon the way some do.
Two capabilities are still described on their own pages as distinct products rather than plan lines, and both are worth naming on a call. Online booking is attributed to Tekmetric Marketing, which their scheduling page names as the thing that connects appointments to the shop calendar. Accounting is Accounting Link, which their own page describes as software from The Back Office, a third party company that partners with Tekmetric. Tire tooling is sold as Tire Suite, a named product line of its own.
Inventory is the counter example, and it is stated plainly: inventory management is a Tekmetric feature included in all of their plans. That is the kind of sentence worth having in writing before a demo, because inventory is the single most common thing to be told is an upgrade.
No free trial, and they say so outright
Most companies in this category leave the trial question unanswered on their site. Tekmetric answers it: they offer free demos but not free trials, and instead invite you to test drive the product 24 hours a day with self guided tours.
A self guided tour is a click through of the interface rather than your own data in a real account, so it will not tell you whether your workflow survives contact with the product. What it will tell you, at no cost and with no call booked, is whether the vocabulary matches your work. For a mobile mechanic that is a genuinely useful ten minutes, because the vocabulary is where this product declares what it assumes.
Is Tekmetric worth it for a one van operation?
Tekmetric says mobile mechanics are among its customers, and it says it in a sentence rather than a marketing headline: they support more than 15,000 shops including mobile mechanics, single shop businesses and franchises, and the product is cloud based so it can be reached from anywhere on any device. Take that at face value. The question is not whether it runs.
The question is what you are paying for, and the product vocabulary answers it. The Job Board moves work order cards through estimate, in progress and completed columns. The Tech Board splits the jobs inside one repair order across named technicians. Their mobile app is described by them as a companion built for service advisors and technicians, from the curb to the bay, which is a sentence with a building in it. We also looked for route or drive time planning across their product pages, their integrations directory and their mobile app page, and did not find any.
On price, both bases stated: Tekmetric starts at $179 per month billed annually, with a higher month to month rate this page does not state, and Fixty publishes Starter at $99/mo and Growth at $149/mo, both billed monthly, and Growth + AI at $249/mo, which is waitlist only and not purchasable today. If you have a bay, technicians and parts on a shelf, the extra is buying things Fixty simply does not have: inventory on every plan, unlimited users, a tire product line. If you work alone out of a van, you are buying a shop system and using the estimate and inspection quarter of it.
When Tekmetric is worth the money
- You work out of a building with a crew. Their Job Board moves work order cards through Estimates, Work in Progress and Completed columns, and the Tech Board splits the jobs inside one order across named technicians. Fixty has no equivalent for dividing a job between people.
- You stock parts. Inventory management is included on every Tekmetric plan rather than sold as an upgrade.
- You sell tires. Tire Suite covers tire inventory and sales inside the platform, which is an entire product line Fixty does not have.
- Your headcount is growing. Tekmetric puts every mechanic, technician, service writer and manager on the platform, with no cap they publish on how many people you add.
What Fixty costs, for comparison
Starter: $99/mo
Billed monthly. 14 day free trial, card collected at signup and charged on day 14.
Growth: $149/mo
Billed monthly, in full at signup. No trial.
Growth + AI: $249/mo
Waitlist only, not purchasable today.
Starter runs a 14 day free trial: a card is collected at signup and charged on day 14, and you can cancel before then. Growth is billed in full at signup and has no trial.
Cancel any time. Access runs to the end of the cycle you already paid for. Fixty prices on this page are month to month, so they are the figure to set against another month to month rate rather than against an annual one.
Questions people ask about this
How much does Tekmetric cost?
Their published statement is that Tekmetric starts at $179 per month when billed annually, with more advanced plans at $309 per month and $409 per month. The entry plan is called Start. The words "when billed annually" attach to the first figure only.
What does Tekmetric cost month to month?
More than $179 per month for the Start plan. This page does not print the exact figure, because Tekmetric never states it in a sentence: it appears as the price on the Start card and nowhere else, while every page of theirs that talks about price in prose quotes the annual rate. Set the billing toggle on their pricing page to monthly and the Start card shows it.
Does Tekmetric charge per user?
No, and they are explicit about it: they do not charge by user or by repair order, and every shop gets full access with unlimited users, unlimited repair orders and unlimited support. Online booking through Tekmetric Marketing, accounting through Accounting Link and tire tooling through Tire Suite are described on their site as separate products, so those are the lines to ask about. Inventory management is stated as included in all plans.
Does Tekmetric have a free trial?
No. Their FAQ says they offer free demos but not free trials, and points instead at self guided tours you can take at any hour. That is a rare straight answer in this category, and it means the only way to use it on your own jobs is to subscribe.
Tekmetric or Fixty for a mobile mechanic?
Tekmetric is real auto repair software and it names mobile mechanics among its customers, so this is a fit question rather than a compatibility one. Their product is organised around a building: a Job Board, a Tech Board of technician columns, a shop calendar, bays. Fixty is organised around one mechanic and a van, with photo vehicle inspections, an estimate approved line by line from a text link, and card payment on the same link. Starter runs a 14 day free trial: a card is collected at signup and charged on day 14, and you can cancel before then. Growth is billed in full at signup and has no trial. On price, Starter at $99/mo sits below their annually billed entry rate of $179 per month, and their month to month rate is higher again by an amount this page does not state.
